adventures in yardwork

Paul and I have a list of things we've been wanting to do in our backyard. I guess with the warm weather and re-stocked nurseries it gave Paul just the push he needed to decide to start on the list. And once Paul decides to do something there is no stopping him. So on Saturday it was: trees. We have no trees in our backyard at all so we've been wanting to plant some. Mike and Jenna came up and helped as well as Jordan and everyone was so kind to help in the hot sun. We were digging up huge chunks of granite in our backyard it was crazy! We ended up getting 6 different trees and now have a nice little grove going on. I know it will take sway too much much patience to get these trees to a decent size but i'm trying to just keep the vision and remember the promise of cherry blossoms to come. We are going to put in some bushes and flowers and a planter area around all of them but at least the first steps (and chunk of money) is done! We also planted a few things in the garden so that's exciting to get that started up again after our luscious crops from last year!
