family pics

We took family pictures with both the Peltons and Dicksons in October and December. With all the weddings and missions this was the first time for both families to take updated ones! I thought I would post our best ones.

P.S. We have the best families we are so lucky.

olympic update

The Olympics are in full swing and no joke, its all we watch (apart from the fact that a lot of our favorite shows are on NBC so there's only a few others left). Anyways, it's been a great one so far and I'm glad to see the good ol' USA is winning the medal count and dominating in some events.

Some of our highlights have been: basically any skiing events but especially moguls.. Hannah Kearney getting gold for the women and Alexandre Bilodeau for the men. Both had awesome runs and tricks and it was really fun to watch. Plus how cute is Alexandre's story with his brother?! Watching Bode Miller with the downhill events, Paul loves him. Torah Bright winning gold for women's halfpipe, i love her she's so cute and also the other 2 winners being for USA. We're also becoming big fans of speed skating so we are now officially Apollo Ohno fans, and i also really like J.R. Celski. Also, Shaun White and his amazingness. I was never quite sure if i liked him or not, but after all of his recent interviews and publicity i decided i do.

Speaking of likes, I also really like the clothes the US is sporting. I was a little unsure about the moose knit hats in the opening ceremonies but i guess if anyone can do a moose it's Ralph Lauren. I love all the plaids and especially the snow boarding jackets.. i kinda want one of those!

Anyways, that's our update for now, and pretty much the re-cap of what has been going on in our house lately. There's still some exciting events to come.. hockey games, women's figure skating... to look forward to. Paul says we (quote) "are for sure going to breed one of our kids to be an olympian." haha

announcing...

We're pregnant!
Paul and I were very pleasantly surprised to find out on Jan. 1st that we are expecting! We could not be more excited. I am 12 weeks along and it's going great! (queasiness, tummy aches, constant peeing, weird cravings and extreme fatigue aside)

At our doctor's appointment at 10 weeks we were able to hear our baby's heartbeat almost right away and it was a huge relief to know baby is alive and well in there.

I'm excited to be done with my first trimester and (hopefully) be moving on to feeling better, getting a big belly and a little more energy!
I am due September 3rd.

Valentine's Weekend

Our Valentine's weekend was quite lovely.
Saturday Night: We went to a V-day Party hosted by Taylor and Missy. We played games and had treats and learned A LOT about each other. Missy made the cutest decorations and prizes. Paul and I won the game of answering questions about each other so we won the LOVE pillow.

Sunday: The perfect Valentine's for me this year. We went to church in the morning then we did some napping. Woke up to these:Photobucket
Then Paul started my feast!

We started with appetizers and salad, then the main event:

Everything was cooked to perfection and so delicious. And all I had to do was lay on the couch! We spaced it all out by watching tons of the olympics and snuggling. And enjoying this:

Later on we made these together:

I most of all loved hanging out with my Valentine all day.

Monday: We got to hang out more since we had no school and no work.
We saw this movie with the Taylors:and of course watched 24 with our posse that night.
I love a good holiday weekend!

a couple of sickos over here

First of all, Paul got a sinus infection on Sunday. It is bad. and caused us to miss our big superbowl party which we were very sad about. I've been desperately trying not to get sick from him, until today when my day went like this:
10:00 woke up not only to my alarm clock but to an insanely stuffy nose and head, sore throat, headache tummy ache.
10:45 still wasn't out of bed, even though i was supposed to work at 11:30
10:46 called work to see if i could come in later, and was told that if i don't feel better i can have the day off. Ended up taking my first sick day ever.
12:30 woke back up. Made Paul make me an orange julius and a bagel and cream cheese. Thank goodness for my amazing husband.
Spent the rest of the day experiencing the same types of aches and pains (along with other symptoms I've got goin on right now, but that's for another day) in addition to this, Paul still feels horrible.
We spent a good part of the day sharing complaints with each other while sitting bundled in blankets across from each other on opposite sides of the couch.
I'm supposed to be napping right now and I'm too tired and groggy to sleep. i hate that feeling. So, i decided to come and complain on my blog instead. lucky you.
I hope we both pull out of this very soon. And i hope someone miraculously drops off dinner on our doorstep. Hey, I can dream even if I can't sleep.

banner up

I've been making banners lately. It's my new craft/sewing project that I'm doing. I get scraps from work when fabrics are discontinued and turns out these little babies are the perfect size and thing to use! So far I've made a "Happy Birthday" and a "Be Mine" for Valentines. Easter is on it's way. Call me obsessed, but they are cute (and super easy!)
