Saturday I worked during the day. I was really lucky to be able to make it for the 4th quarter of the game (SO glad we won!) And then after the game we went to Brick Oven with Whitney, Morgan and Brad.

On Sunday night we went to dinner at some friends house with three of the missionaries that served under my parents when we lived in Spain. Chelsea and Tyler and Paul and I got together with them and their families and it was really fun to catch up and reminisce about our days in Espana.. it's crazy it was like 10 years ago that we all lived there! (unfortunately I didn't take any pictures of us!)

making an escape

Joe and Steffany are moving. Joe got a job in California and so Friday was our last time to really hang out with them before they pack up and leave us! We have loved being friends with them.. they are so fun and easy to talk to and always up for some spontaneous adventures. We went to Mimi's Cafe (french onion soup for me please!) for our farewell dinner.

September 20th: The big 2-5 for my big sis. Love you Chels!
My sister and I are really different which means she has some amazing qualities that I do not possess as much. I love how she is really easy-going and not afraid to talk to ANYONE.. and not only that but she could carry on a lengthy conversation with just about anyone. She's great.

heartache

Really? REALLY? Our first home game: BYU vs. FSU and I am so disappointed. What happened to the team that beat OU? What happened to home field advantage? Why didn't our defense bother to show up for the game?

On a happier note, I'm glad I got to be there anyways. And, our tickets ended up being really good! Paul surprised me this year by getting me tickets to the football games. I wasn't sure if I should get them, since I work a lot on Saturdays and especially since I am no longer a student so it costs more. But, Paul knew of my LOVE for cougar football and decided to buy them. Of course I was thrilled.

We went to the tailgate party by the stadium before the game and it was really fun... we got lots of free stuff.

Heather game up for the game which was really fun to see her!

it's what's for dinner

We went to Texas roadhouse on Saturday night with Clay and Tiffany! It was super fun. We had to wait forever to get in because it was so busy but it was worth it. The food was really good and we loved the atmosphere. Not to mention the company... we always have so much fun with Clay and Tiff we love them!
After dinner we went over to my cousins Jesse and Dareth's house to wish Jesse a happy birthday. We had fun chatting with them and meeting a few of their neighbors.

Happy Birthday to my amazing mother-in-law! She is so fun and such an inspiration in so many ways: working out (she just completed a triathlon in just barely over 3 hours!), being always optimistic and kind, and especially being such a great mom. She's awesome! Have a great day Lorraine! Love you!

We got to babysit these two little kiddos on Sunday! It was so fun! how could you not just love those little faces?! Keeping up with the 2 of them is definitely hard work! Taylor and Missy... I have even more respect for you now.

miracles do happen

Our #20 team upset the #3 team. It as an amazing game and definitely a loud one at our house. My only regret is that I wasn't actually there in Dallas for it. I can't believe we didn't go! but, I'm trying to only look at the positive and think about the (hopefully) amazing season we are about to have! GO COUGARS!

Swiss Days

We checked another thing off our list. We went to Swiss Days up in Midway! It was really fun to walk around and look at things. They have lots of cute little booths with a wide variety of things. We didn't end up getting anything but were very tempted a few times. If I was the owner of a baby girl or a rustic style cabin I for sure would have made some purchases.
We did sample some of the Swiss Days cuisine. For the first round we shared a "knockwurst sandwich"... pretty good but the bread was a bit soggy which kinda grossed me out. I can't stand soggy things. Round 2 redeemed itself: "Swiss tacos" (navajo taco style with the scone on the bottom and then all the taco stuff on top) It was delicious. And then of course we had to share a scone for dessert. I went to throw something away and turned around to see Paul just sitting all alone in the grass eating this HUGE scone and I thought it was funny.

JAMboree

I made freezer jam the other day! I'm very proud of my domestic skills, thank you very much. Whitney and I bought a box of peaches from Allred Orchards (which, by the way, are THE BEST peaches) and then we blanched them and froze slices and I made 2 jars of peach and 2 jars of strawberry jam with my fruit. So far we've tried the strawberry and it's delicious. Overall the whole process was really easy and delicious!
