game changer

I knew this day would come. In fact, Paul and I have been joking that we were living on borrowed time right now since it HADN'T happened yet. What is it?

Caitlin can climb out of her crib.

 Not only does she climb out, but she heads straight for the door and out into the rest of the house.  the first night it happened we were shocked. We had put her in her crib and closed the door and she started yelling for us and next thing we know the yelling was sounding closer and closer and she had opened the door! That night she climbed out about 30 times... needless to say it was a sleepless night for everyone.


Welp, what do i do now? After lots of googling, pondering and trial and error, we ended up moving her into a big girl bed and we have to keep her door locked during the night so she doesn't come out and wander the house. The timing is not ideal since we are leaving town in a week and the transition has been a rough one to say the least. But I knew this would have to happen sometime. We also got rid of her binky in the process. We've seen improvement as the days have gone on, at first I think she sleep more on the floor than on her bed and the whole situation made me so sad and been so hard but she's doing better. It's been a big adjustment for our big girl.
