Dicksons do Disney

I put a lot of planning and preparation and anticipation into our family California/Disneyland trip and I'm happy to report that all of my expectations and hopes were met- if not exceeded. It was such a dream to spend so much time with our little family and also other family and friends and see our kids experience new things and have so much fun together. Makes it hard to come back to real life!

Here are all of my Disney highlights and memories, I had to divide up my posts to give justice to all the cute pictures I wanted to post!

First of all, a month or so before we went to Disneyland we sat down with Caitlin and showed her pictures of Disneyland and asked if she wanted to go. Of course she said yes. So we showed her the "button jar". We told her every time she does something good she can put a button in the jar and if she gets all her buttons in then we can go to Disneyland. She understood the concept pretty well and she was really excited about it. It was good motivation for her to be good and she was really cute with it. As luck would have it (wink wink) she got her very last button into the jar the day before we left. She was so excited to go to Disney!

Day 1:
-Got into Long Beach airport around 11: Luckily the plane ride was short.. Nolan is at a hard age for plane rides (wants to be moving around, isn't entertained by much or for very long).
-Drove to Huntington Beach, got "Sancho's Tacos" for lunch and had a picnic at the beach. This was officially Nolan's first time to see the ocean. He didn't like the cold water. Caitlin liked being chased by the waves and finding seashells.
-Went to our hotel and swam. Nolan is still unsure of the water but he looked so cute in his new swim outfit. and i don't mind him snuggling and sitting still by me.
-Visited Morgan & Whitney Taylor that night and met baby Brox!! He is such a cute little guy and it was so fun to meet him and see their new place and so fun to see them as parents.
