Paul's b-day
Saturday was a really fun day. When we got up and i gave Paul his first birthday present: I made him a scrapbook with each year of his life and from each year i had different people write in to tell stories and memories of him at that age. So since we woke up around 9:30 i had him read all the pages til he was 9 years old then he had to wait! Throughout the day whenever we had time we would catch up then we finished at the end of the day with the last of the 24 years. One year for every hour of the day. He really loved it and i think it was really fun for him to read all the memories and notes from everyone. So thanks for helping me everyone!
After that we both worked out (that's true P90X dedication.. working out on your birthday!) Then we all met up at Taylor and Missy's with the hope of going to the lake to go boating. Unfortunately there was a problem with the electric start-up so we couldn't take the boat out! But, we did have our sandwiches that we packed and had a little picnic on the lawn. After that we went to Nordstrom Rack and shopped a little (i swear it wasn't all my idea). Later we went to dinner with a bunch of our friends at PF Chang's and it was really fun and delicious as usual. Then we went back to our house for cake and ice cream and more presents... Paul got a new computer, a case for it and football cleats. I'd say he's really lucky and he had a very happy birthday.

music moment
I saw this on a friend's blog and it made me way happy so i wanted to post it. Jon Schmidt: Taylor Swift "Love Story" + Coldplay "Viva la Vida"
I also wanted to post this song by Brad Paisley: "I'm still a guy" it is totally Paul's song. It's way funny so listen to all the words.

model husband
Paul does the cutest things for me all the time. He is so considerate and i love it. He really does everything he possibly can to make me happy.
For example: every night when we go upstairs to go to bed, i always forget my phone downstairs. Then i realize i don't have it when i try to go plug it in next to my bed. So he always will go back down and get it for me. Or, he just remembers in the first place and brings it up for me. I have no idea why i can't just remember to do this myself! I know it's probably super annoying to him but he always does it and he is so nice about it.
Another for example: on Monday i had a long day working and he probably knew that the last thing i wanted to do when i got home was work out but i had to do my P90X. So, when i got home Paul wasn't there but this is what i found...
a brand new pull-up bar waiting for me in the doorway, my weights and a towel all laid out and an explanation note. So cute! It made me excited to work out because it was all just ready and waiting for me!
i guess what i'm trying to say is: i feel like i have the best husband in the world and i love him so much!

a sad farewell
On Friday, Jeff and Melissa moved back to Texas. I feel like it hasn't quite hit me yet that we will no longer be living by each other. They have been such a constant in our lives since paul and i were dating and we have experienced pretty much everything side by side over the past few years. It's going to be SO weird having them gone. Plus i'm so jealous that they get to move back to Texas! They are the best brother and sister -in law and best friends anyone could ask for... always willing to help, or to listen, their door is always open and they are always ready to hang out and have fun anytime.
I will miss: telling Melissa all my dramas, hearing all of hers and about her crazy patients, our talks in general, doing EVERYTHING together, sharing dinners, playing games, going EVERYWHERE together, just being able to walk in their house anytime, having melissa as like my main friend at church, watching the boys do silly/funny/dumb stuff together, going on motorcycle rides together (scooter for us, dirt bike for them), having Jeff to always call as my back-up if i can't get a hold of Paul, watching all of our shows together (most specifically The Bachelor/Bachelorette and dancing shows that only Melissa and i enjoy and 24), and the list goes on and on.
My only saving grace is that we will see them in about a month when we go down there. I love you and i will miss you both so much! Thanks for the good times.
small miracles
Lost my wallet in Costco the other day. I set it down for some reason while we were shopping and left it somewhere. About 4 hours later at home I realized it was gone and i had this horrible feelings that i had left it there. I searched around everywhere to no avail then i called Costco... sure enough, a purple wallet had been turned in. I went there and picked up my wallet fully intact with nothing missing. I'm so grateful there are honest people out there who would turn it in!

what doesn't kill you...
On May 11th Paul and I started P90X which means by August 12th I expect to have an amazing body. It's a 6 day a week workout program for 90 days. And I have never worked out this hard in my life so if it doesn't kill me it will most certainly make me stronger. I'm really only posting about this because i feel like the more people I tell that I'm doing this, the more guilty I would feel dropping out. Wish me luck!
playing catch up
I feel like my blogging as been at a minimum lately starting in May. So I'm playing a little catch up. Paul said, "yah i can't believe that you're blog didn't shut down or something because you haven't put anything on it for a few days." Thanks babe. At any rate, i still like to keep up-to-date on here. So for my own self, i will keep posting.
End of April i went to a baby shower for Shannel Tingey. She is one of my good friends from work and is having a baby girl in September. I am SO excited for her and Tyler! Her shower was so cute.. the cutest decorations and food ever! I love Shannel she is so fun and easy to talk to, and she's going to be a great mom!
We have also gotten really into bowling lately. Paul wants to join a bowling league and even has his own bowling ball. Personally, I am horrible at bowling but it's still pretty fun and especially at Fat Cat's where i love their playlist, I could hang out there often, and i looks like i will be because that's all Paul want to do nowadays. Need us? We'll be at the alley.
We went camping a few weekends ago. We went up to a really cool spot by Eagle Mountain overlooking the lake and made tin foil dinners, roasted mallows, rode dirt bikes (in our case the scooter which did amazingly well off-road!). We went with Jeff and Melissa, Jason and Lindsay, Joe and Steffany, Brad Hancock and Morgan Taylor. My camera was out of battery but Morgan was able to capture this gem with his phone... Paul wrestling down a tree for firewood.
Also, our good friends Chris and Kathryn Clegg had their baby boy on May 11th! His name is Cole and is he VERY precious. So fun to have friends with babies! I can't wait to see him again!

I love you mom!
Happy mom's day! I am so grateful for my own mother and for my mother in law. I hope that i show them on a regular basis (although i'm sure not enough) how truly grateful i am for them and how much i love them... it can't all be piled in just one day.
My mom is my hero and always has been. She is such a strong person and always gives the best advice. She was my complete confidante in high school and still remains so this day. It is from her that i get my love for creativity and interior design. It's also her that i get a lot of my other attributes (i truly am "my mother's daughter")! She does everything for her kids and i love her so much, my life would be so different without her.
My mother-in-law Lorraine is also an awesome mother... not only from how she is to me but by how she's raised her kids, and i'm so lucky to be married to one! Lorraine is always the sweetest person ever and always eager to talk and lend an ear to listen and see what's going on in our lives. She has always made me feel so welcome and comfortable in their family.
I'm so excited to one day be a mother myself but for now i'll try to prepare to do my best to live up to these great examples!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I'm planning on some mexican food for dinner. And tons of chips and salsa.
I can't believe it's already May. This year is flying by!Friday night we went to the Owen's cabin in Oakley with Jason and Lindsay, Jeff and Melissa and Clay and Tiffany. It was way fun. We cooked dinner and went on the rope swing and then roasted mallows and talked. Unfortunately Paul and i couldn't spend the night because i had to work the next morning but we still had a ton of fun.
