anniversary celebrations

We've been married for 4 years now. Wow! In some ways it feels like we've been married way longer than that and in other ways it feels like these 4 years have gone by so super fast. No matter which one, it's fun to celebrate!
On Wednesday (the 27th, our actual day) we got to go to dinner and a movie! Thanks so much to Chelsea and Tyler for babysitting! We went to La Jolla Groves in the Riverwoods and had an amazing dinner and then saw "Captain America". It was different than what I expected it to be, but what was even better was that this was the first time since Caitlin was born that we have gone to a movie just the two of us! I kinda forgot what it was like to snuggle in the movie theater... so that was fun.

Over the weekend we took our little trip to keep up with our goal of going to a different state for every anniversary. This year we decided to take a quick trip to Idaho and cross that one off our list. The trip was very quick indeed considering we ran a half marathon that morning then left soon after. We were really only in Idaho for about 24 hours but (sorry Idahoans) that was long enough for us. We had a lot of fun though spending interrupted time together. Here are a few things i want to remember about our Idaho trip:
-Stayed in Idaho Falls for the night at the "Hilton Garden Inn". It was a nice hotel but unfortunately we got a horrible night's rest. correction: Caitlin got a horrible night's rest therefore we all did. (and the night that we most needed it too since we were so tired from our run!)
-The falls in Idaho falls are really pretty. There are also some cute older houses and some nasty older houses. We drove around and picked our favorites. The Idaho Falls temple is amazing pretty.
-After only being there for 24 hours, we had 3 people think that Caitlin was a boy! This has only happened once ever before when she was a tiny baby. So weird.
-Caitlin learned how to use a straw! We just tried it and she started slurping away.
-We visited "Bear World" where apparently Paul had always REALLY wanted to go when he lived up there but never got to. So, we made his dream come true. And it was totally worth it. They had elk, a "rare white elk, mountain goats, deer, wolves, a moose, bison, and 33 bears just roaming around while you drive your car through. It was so cool! Then they had a petting zoo that was so fun for Caitlin. She was really hesitant at first.. she like to look but not touch. Then she warmed up to the animals and loved it.
-We visited Rexburg to see Paul's old stomping grounds (of his first freshman semester). I had never seen BYU Idaho before so i got the tour mixed with all of Paul's stories of mischief. Good thing he only stayed one semester because i don't think little Rexburg could have handled him for much longer.
