Maverick loves to be in the thick of the action and has a smile for everyone he meets. He rolls everywhere, and just cut his first tooth. He's the first of my kids to say "mama" before anything else AND like his veggies more than fruit. Seven months old is looking good for the M A V man.
Eats: Most improved eater! He still loves to use his hands whenever possible but I find if i give him something to keep his hands busy I can slip in his food on a spoon pretty easily. Sometimes it's still a messy fight but it's improving. He loves it all! He likes veggies and fruit and usually even seems to prefer the veggies, or a mix. He's the first of my kids to like green beans or broccoli or peas and his favorite seems to be sweet potatoes. He's not a huge plain applesauce fan which is also a departure from the other two! What a cultured palette. He eats a couple packets a day, one for lunch and 1.5-2 for dinner. Still drinks all his bottles but with the food a few have decreased in size. I still put rice cereal in his morning bottle for something more hearty.
Sleeps: He is sleeping through the night, from about 8:30PM -7AM. Then I give him a bottle in bed and he usually goes back to sleep or stays quiet until around 8:30-9. He still usually grabs a nap in the morning for about an hour or so and then does a 2 hour nap in the afternoon. All of this changes however while he has been teething this all changes. He wakes up through the night, doesn't nap, so we take it day to day along with extra bottles and tylenol as needed. I still swaddle him to sleep and rock him whenever I can. Love snuggling him and having that alone time.
Plays: He sits up like a champ! He is great at sitting and for the most part completely stable. He loves playing with blocks and cars, especially if the older kids are around playing with the same thing. He likes to be in the exersaucer while they are coloring or his favorite is probably sitting in the family room chewing on a block while Nolan builds block towers for his cars. If he's on the floor he rolls everywhere and has entered the stage of getting stuck in funny places. The older kids have decided he's big enough now to really play with and he is now included in being trucked around, picked up and rough housed. I try to obviously keep things safe but Maverick LOVES rough housing and being jumped on and around! HE just giggles and smiles and laughs.
Also: His hair is getting thicker and longer but still very fuzzy. His eyelashes have the most perfect curl you've ever seen and his eyes are still extremely blue. He is still extremely fair and will get rosy after 5 minutes of being outside. He is starting to talk and be very vocal. He says "baba" and "mama" and screeches.
Firsts: He cut his first tooth on April 3rd, just in time to turn 7 months old and it was expected. He had a rough time with sleeping and being extra fussy. We found tylenol and chewing on anything and everything to be our best and only remedies. He has also been sitting in the shopping cart alone for the first time. He celebrated his first St. Patrick's Day and his first Easter.
