On the 19th we went to Tyler and Clancee Whiting's wedding reception. It was so gorgeous! It was in this awesome building in Salt Lake called the Salt Lake Hardware building. The decorations were so cool and unique and the food was to die for... and of course Tyler and Clancee looked so happy. Clancee was absolutely beautiful. I'm so glad we could go and share in their special day, they are a super fun couple.
On the 21st we went with Jeff and Melissa to the Salt Lake Grizzlies hockey game! I got the tickets from my friend Shannel at work, she was so nice to give them to us and we had a really great time! We had never been to a Grizzlies game and i'd say we got the full experience. Our seats were on the 3rd row by one of the goals and we were able to witness a pretty big fight as well as hear some really funny comments by fellow spectators and see some kids be thrown out for bad behavior. It was also "pooch at the pond" night which means everyone can bring their dogs to the game! This was pretty hilarious to see so many dogs at a hockey game.. so random. And it also solidified our theory that dogs and their owners really do start to look like each other.
On the 22nd, Paul and i made quite possiby the most delicious breakfast drink EVER. We made fresh squeezed orange julius and let me tell you... they were like heaven. We juiced a bunch of oranges then put them in the blender with ice, sugar, milk and powdered milk and voila.. a treat for your tastebuds. That juicer has definitely been a worthwhile investment!

Our Valentine's Day was AWESOME!! We had such a fun day and were so lucky to be able to spend it together.
In the morning we had a big group breakfast at our house with Whitney and Morgan, Jeff and Melissa and Brad and Kinzie. We were all making different things in our tiny kitchen but it all turned out delicious! We had home-made fresh squeezed juice, pink heart-shaped pancakes with home-made syrup, fruit, and breakfast casserole. DELICIOUS! It was really fun to make it all together and of course eat it all. After we all got stuffed, 6 of us (Jeff and Melissa, Whitney and Morgan and Paul and I) headed up to Sundance! We had such a fun time skiing all day. It was snowing all day but wasn't too cold or windy. There was a ton of fresh powder everywhere it was incredible. We all did really well and everyone had a lot of fun. After skiing we split up for dinner. Jeff and Paul made dinner while Melissa and I got ready then Paul and I ate at our house and it was so so yummy! He made me rib eye steak, home-made mashed potatoes, green beans and garlic bread. Oh my goodness it was so good!! Paul is the best cook i told him he should make me dinner every night.
After that we watched a movie and exchanged gifts. Then we had dessert.... chocolate covered strawberries in a chocolate bowl. They were honestly heavenly.
I felt so spoiled! This Valentine's was so much fun i couldn't have asked for anything more!

my husband is a stud

Today marks the one year anniversary of Paul breaking his back in a skiing accident last year at Sundance. I can't believe that already a year has passed, it feels like in so many ways we are still dealing with the consequences. I am so proud of Paul for how he handled the whole thing and the willpower he showed to heal so fast and carry on with his normal life. He still has at least a little pain every day and that may never change but at least he isn't paralyzed! He is so amazing to me and i love him with all my heart. The experience of him getting so hurt was very hard but it was also a huge growing experience for us. I love you and i am so proud of you baby!

what has been happening during "the crash"

#1 we got our Color me mine canister back! It turned out really cute, especially the inside which was entirely painted by Paul. He had to do like 15 coats so it would turn out a bright red and it did! It's fun and we now have it on our new shelves.
#2 On Thursday night we went to the Young Ambassadors show. My friend Jeanette Lefrandt is in it and she did great! As did all the other performers. The show was really fun, they sang and danced to a bunch of songs from the 60's to today and they were all so talented and it was super entertaining. I recommend it! Even Paul admitted that he liked it. Somehow too i scored front row seats so we felt very up close and personal with the performance.
#3 Friday night we went to the new Iggy's restaurant by University Mall with Shannel and Tyler. I work with Shannel and i love her! Her husband Tyler is super nice too so it was fun to get together and get to know both of them better. Iggy's was really yummy and a fun place too!
#4 Heather came in town for the weekend! YAY! Her and Kevin are living in Cedar City and we miss them so much!! Kevin was doing a cross country race in Idah so Heather came to Provo and it was so fun to hang out with her! She can always make me laugh so hard and it just reminds me of how much i miss having her around!
REUNITED! Love these girls!
Whitney and Morgan showing off on the Indo Board
#5 On Sunday Jan and Bret's baby Isabella was blessed. Bret did an awesome job with the blessing, it was really touching. Bella looked so precious in her white dress and little pearl bracelet. I'm so sad i didn't get any pictures! After the blessing we went to their house for a brunch with all the family. It was really fun and yummy and everyone in their family is so nice.

So that about catches things up! Just keeping busy and loving life and praying that we don't have to pay for a new computer!

computer woes

My computer crashed! This past week we have been trying to restore my computer and get it back to working order. I had about 12678934932754687364123 million viruses on it... don't know how i got any of them! My computer seems to be working ok now for the time being. Paul and i have the worst luck with technology!

my day off

Saturday I had a day off from work and Paul and i had an awesome day together! It was so fun to just hang out with each other and actually get some things done. First we went around and ran a bunch of errands and went to some stores i wanted to go to. A little bit of a tight squeeze getting out of our parking lot!
At one of the stores we got some new shelves for our family room! This is one of the changes i've been wanting. Something to give us a little extra storage and just make it look different, but something that didn't cost a ton. We got a super deal on these shelves (thanks to Paul's excellent negotiating and some luck) so we were so excited to put them up! We brought it home and loved it. We rearranged all the storage downstairs and it's way better now. We also decided to paint our huge speakers that we have and i think they look way better now. It's always fun to have a change!
Hallelujah! after searching far and wide... THE shelves.Paul spray painting the speakers. He wore the mask thing because i told him to for the picture but he was actually glad for it being as he kept it on for the rest of the time. The finished product. I love it! I STILL wish i could paint my walls but it's fun to at least do some things! Paul is such a good sport to put up with all of my design ideas and he's such a good helper too!

That night we went to "Color me Mine" with Jeff and Melissa and Taylor and Missy and the boys and it was a lot of fun. I had never been before and i loved it. Paul and i both worked on painting a little canister and we did it cheetah print to go with our family room. I hope it turns out cute but we won't pick it up until wednesday night so.. to be continued. Jeff and Melissa did a spponrest with a sweet longhorn on it and Taylor and Missy did two plates with each boys footprint and name and date on them. I'm so excited to see how everyone's turns out!
Paul was a pro at the blowdrying between coats... such an essential part to our creation. It was really funny to see the boys' reactions to having their feet painted! Calahan hated it and was crying the whole time, Mason was just super chill about it.

It was such a great day. i absolutely love just hanging out with Paul and doing things with him and spending time together. I love that we can start a day with absolutely no plans and find things to fill it to make an awesome day!

home improvements

Lately I have been wanting to do so many things with our house. since we'r renting we can't do too much but the creative juices have been flowing (a little bit to Paul's dismay). I want a house so bad! So, we re-did a few things in our extra bedroom and re-organized. Paul's brother Mike sent us a huge Chinese scroll from his mission in Taiwan so we put it up and re-arranged the pictures on the wall. I also got some big pillow forms for free from work so i made some cute pillows for the couch up there. I'm a little more satisfied.. for the time being.
